The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 was released in January 2014 by the Chinese OEM Huawei and it ran on Android 4.3 Jellybean which wasn't the latest at that time.
Customers pleas for an upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat was met with an answer that the company has no future plans of updating the phablet.
Now, after the release of Android Lollipop 5.0, Huawei seems to have changed their minds and say that an official Android 5.0 ROM is available for the Ascend Mate 2 and will start sending out updates soon, however US customers will not receive it immediately and will have to wait longer when update starts seeding.
