Nokia licenses brand to Foxconn for the N1 tablet

Samuel Enife - 4:43 PM

Earlier today the old  Nokia announced it's first ever Android tablet the N1.
But breaking news reaching us suggests the N1 tablet is to be made by Foxconn while Nokia is just licensing their name to be used so we could expect more of such deals in the future.
Even with the licensing Nokia still has quality control over any product one want's to sell under the Nokia brand.

Nokia also receive royalties from Foxconn not only for nokia's name but for design also, and all phones produced under the Nokia brand starting from the N1 must look like an original product produced by Nokia.

This shows that Nokia Finland is not ready to come back to the smartphones business but will rather be selling brand names to good products worthy of nokia's name which will be produced and marketed by other companies like in the case of the N1 it was Foxconn.
