Microsoft exec confirms Lumia 650's existence

Samuel Enife - 1:05 AM
Although the Windows 10-powered Lumia 650 has been the subject of some rumors lately, there hasn't been any official word or hint about the device by Microsoft. However, that was until now as the company's CMO Chris Capossela has effectively confirmed the handset's existence.
At a recent Windows Weekly podcast, while replying to a question from ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley on the Lumia 650's release, the executive said, “they had not announced a release date yet,” suggesting that the device indeed exists.
Specs-wise, from what has been rumored until now, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 212 chipset, and sports a 5-inch 720p touchscreen. It has 1GB RAM, and 8GB expandable internal memory. In terms of cameras, the handset features an 8 MP rear unit with LED flash, and a 5 MP selfie shooter.
The Lumia 650 is expected to be made official in January or February next year, with reports saying that Cricket will carry it in the US starting in April.
