Huawei has been on somewhat of an announcement spree lately. There was some movement on the entry-level front with the Enjoy 7 Plus, as well as a new 6A model from the company's Honor sub-brand. The high-point of the list was yesterday's unveiling of the nova 2 and nova 2 plus. But Huawei didn’t stop at smartphones alone, announcing a new tablet and a few laptops as well.
Now you can add three new accessories to the seemingly endless list of new Huawei products. These appear to come as part of the recent nova 2 and nova 2 plus announcement, complementing the handsets. First up is the Huawei Panoramic Camera. Like the name suggests, it has a pair of sensors on each side (13MP in this case), capable of taking 360-degree panorama photos and videos. The peculiar thing about the small camera is the USB Type-C connector, poking out from one of its sides. It is there since the device is meant to be plugged directly into an OTG-enabled smartphone - a revival of a cool retro concept. The Huawei Panoramic Camera will go on sale on June 30 for CNY 899 (about $130).
The next gadget is the Huawei Sports Band. Frankly, it got us a little confused, since the company, or rather its subsidiary, just recently unveiled the Honor Band A2. Despite the obvious design similarities, these seem to be different products. Most notably, the Huawei Sports Band comes equipped with GPS for precise exercise tracking in its higher trim. The wearable is also waterproof at a depth of up to 50 meters and can be used to track swimming, as well as a traditional slew of land-bound activities.
A heart rate monitor is also part of the mix and Huawei claims its new and 80% more efficient chip can keep the whole thing running up to 21 days on a single charge. The standard Huawei Sports Band will sell for CNY 298 (about $44) and if you want GPS, that one will set you back CNY 388 (about $57). You can order one on July 14.
Last and probably least in this particular case, there is the Huawei Bluetooth Headset. Information on it is still scarce, but we do know the headset will feature a heart rate monitor. Pricing and availability are still unknown.
