A couple of months ago, a leak teased two new Exynos chipsets from Samsung Electronics. A new rumor revises the specs of one of those and adds a new chip into the mix.
Exynos 9610
Now rumored to be a 10nm chip (not 14nm), the Exynos 9610 will feature an octa-core processor – four each of Cortex-A73 and A53, the big cores clocking up to 2.4GHz. The GPU has been revised to Mali-G71 (not G72, which would have been 25% more energy efficient).
It may seem a bit strange that Samsung isn’t sticking to its in-house Mongoose cores, but this isn’t the top chipset – that will be the Exynos 9810, to be used in the Galaxy S9.
Exynos 7885
A 14nm chipset for the mid-range, this one has only two Cortex-A73 cores plus six small A53 cores. The clock speed will be slightly lower too, 2.1GHz. This chipset is reportedly slated for the Galaxy A7 (2018) and will also have a Mali-G71 GPU.
A GFXBench result from just that phone confirmed the octa-core processor and G71 GPU.
