The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active for AT&T still isn't official, despite the pouring rain of leaks we've seen about it over the past few weeks. We got official press renders and full specs already, but the carrier seems intent on postponing the launch as much as possible.
Funnily, though, that hasn't prevented AT&T from confirming the fact that the Galaxy S8 Active is a real device indeed, and one that's definitely coming soon. Seen below is an excerpt from the FAQ section for a promotion that's gone live at AT&T. This, by the way, is still available on the company's website, at the Source linked below.
It's a list of Samsung smartphones that are eligible to get you a $500 coupon to use toward the purchase of a Samsung TV for use on DIRECTV, the carrier's TV service.
The S8 Active should come with a ruggedized MIL-STD-810G compliant body, a 5.8-inch 2,960x1,440 18.5:9 Super AMOLED non-curved touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 5, the Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and a big 4,000 mAh battery. The cameras seem identical to those found on the S8 and S8+, a 12 MP rear unit and an 8 MP selfie shooter, both with f/1.7 aperture. The Active will be 9.9mm thick and weigh 208g.
