Thanks to the first teardown of the Xiaomi Mi 5X we see the internals and also get some basic instructions on how to open up the phone. It's reasonably simple, as far as modern smartphones go.
After you pry open the back panel you'll see the motherboard, sub board and the battery. The disassembly guide warns that the Mi 5X's internal connectors are not fixed with metal plates and therefore could loosen if the phone is dropped, leading to failures.
Above the 3,080mAh battery you can clearly see the fingerprint module as well as the motherboard containing the Snapdragon 625 chip and the RAM and storage.
One of the images shows the dual 12MP back cameras, the 5MP front camera and the aforementioned fingerprint module.
