Redmi branches out into the laptop business with the RedmiBook 14

In addition to the Redmi K20 announcementtoday, Xiaomi's sub-brand also introduced a 14-inch laptop. And judging by the specs sheet, it's going to be a great performer without breaking the bank. Looks like Redmi wants to retain the same ideology with its notebooks - value being the top priority.
The RedmiBook 14, as the name suggests, packs a 14-inch screen with a Full HD (1920 x 1080px) IPS panel boasting thin bezels and 81.2% screen-to-body ratio. You can choose from 8th Generation ultra-low voltage Core i7 or Core i5 chips (Core i7-8565U or Core i5-8265U) and no matter which configuration you choose, you get NVIDIA GeForce MX250 with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
As far as memory goes, you can get up to 512GB of SATA SSD storage and 8GB of DDR4-2400 RAM. A 46Wh battery keeps the lights on while two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack and 1 HDMI 1.4 will have to do in terms of connectivity.
The best part is that the RedmiBook 14 is a fairly compact device without making any compromise with the materials. It's made of anodized aluminum, weighs about 1.5kg and it's just under 18mm thick.
The starting price of the laptop is CNY 3,999 ($580) with Core i5 and 256GB of SSD, add CNY 300 more for the 512GB SSD configuration or go with the top-end Core i7 model with 512GB SSD, which asks CNY 4999 ($720). However, there's no word whether the RedmiBook 14 will be available outside of China.
