Apple to use Foxcconn for it's sapphire glass profuction

Samuel Enife - 6:17 AM
Apple has tried and failed at bringing us sapphire displays for its iPhone and iPad lineup. The drama behind the company’s attempt to build sapphire in the US is long, and in the end, all we see is the company’s Asian partners trying to solve the problem for Cupertino. Today we learn that Apple is still planning to give us a sapphire iPhone soon, and a long time partner seems to be in charge.
Foxconn has been responsible for building iPhones for Apple since we can remember, and some new reports claim that the company is highly interested in adopting the sapphire business for Apple. If you remember, weeks ago we heard that Foxconn’s partner InnoLux was investing a significant amount of money in a new facility that’s rumored to used to build displays for Apple. We later heard that this could be for sapphire displays specifically, and today, new sources give extra credibility to those reports.
At this point it’s hard to predict if these rumors are actually related to the previous ones, but the report claims that Foxconn might be prepping for sapphire production as early as Spring 2015. The Apple Watch might be a priority, and that’s the reason why Foxconn will begin production so early.
