China: Nokia N1 tablet sells 20K unit in four minutes

Samuel Enife - 8:01 PM
We’ve heard of Xiaomi selling thousands of devices under a little time frame. However, there’s a new champ in two and it’s Nokia.
In a record time of 4 minutes, the Finland company who’s Devices & Services arm was offloaded to Microsoft last year in a reported $7.2 billion buyout,  sold 20,000 units of its Nokia N1 tablets in China yesterday.
Armed with this impressive number, Nokia will be offering another round of sales come January 15th. This time, an even crowd larger than the 500,000 people that queued up to buy the tablets yesterday is expected.
During the sale, the Nokia tablet was available at the price of CNY 1,599 (roughly $256) and at that rate, that’s a good bang for the buck. No wonder so many rushed out to purchase the device.
