Apple iPhone sales go down in Q1 2017

Samuel Enife - 1:48 AM
Apple financial results for the March quarter are in and they show a slight decline in iPhone sales on a yearly basis. The good news is Mac and services numbers were up, bringing the total revenue to $52.9 billion.
The number of iPhones sold in the past three months was 50.8 million, going slightly down from the 51.2 million twelve months ago. Part of the reason might be Apple fans are withholding purchases in expectation of the 10th anniversary iPhone later this year.
Another segment that registered a decline in sales is the iPad. 8.9 million Apple tablets were sold between January and March which is 9% less than the 10.25 million units for the same period of 2016.
The positive news came from Mac's sales. The company managed to sell 4% more computers and ended the quarter with 4.2 million units. The other businesses category (that includes Apple Watch and Apple TV) jumped by 31%, while Services business hit double-digit growth.
