HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 Education Edition announced

Google has announced a new Chromebook for schools, the HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 Education Edition. It was announced in a blog post by Google celebrating the success of Chromebooks in Swedish schools.

Not a lot of details are available about this model. Google only mentioned a 360 degree rotating hinge with USB-C charging, optional stylus, and an outward-facing camera.

It's likely that the HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 Education Edition is based entirely on the HP ProBook x360 11 G1 Education Edition, which comes with Windows 10 Pro. In that case it should have the same Intel Celeron N3350 or Pentium N4200 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB flash storage and 11.6-inch 1366x768 resolution touchscreen display.

No pricing has been announced yet but it will be available for purchase in mid-April.

HP's rumored consumer-grade Windows 10 phone to be a mid-range device

If you recall, over a week ago, there were rumors that HP and Microsoft are now working on a consumer-grade Windows 10 Mobile smartphone, although nothing much was revealed about its specifications.

Now, more information about the handset has emerged. According to a new report, the phone will be a mid-range device, likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 600 series chipset.

The report also says that the phone will support Continuum, and will be compatible with Elite x3's accessories as well. The earlier rumor, in case you missed, had said that handset will feature typical Lumia features like Glance and double tap to wake.

HP’s Elite x3 goes on sale in Hong Kong

If you recall, HP officially announced its Elite x3 Windows 10 smartphone for Hong Kong back in September this year. At that time, the company said the business-focused device will go on sale in the country in November.

Inline with the schedule, the phone is now available for purchase in the Asian country.

A quick look at HP's official Hong Kong website reveals that the Elite x3 can be purchased for HKD 6,499 (around $840). A bundle including the Elite Desk Dock costs HKD 7,698 (around $990), while the one that includes a 21.5-inch HP monitor carries a discounted price tag of HKD 6,499.

Rumor says HP and Microsoft are working on new consumer-grade Windows 10 phone

According to a new rumor, HP - in partnership with Microsoft - is working on a new Windows 10 Mobile smartphone. The device, the rumor says, could be made official in February next year, an year after the business-focused HP Elite x3 was unveiled.

Sadly, nothing much is known about the handset at the moment, except that it'll feature typical Lumia features like Glance and double tap to wake, and it's likely the same device that Microsoft internally announced recently in Redmond.

HP Elite x3 will be available through Microsoft's brick and mortar stores starting next week

Microsoft has revealed that the HP Elite x3 smartphone will be available for purchase from its brick and mortar stores starting next week - October 10 to be precise. The device has only been available through online channels so far.

The revelation was made by Peter Han, VP of OEM Worldwide Marketing at Microsoft. Over 100 physical Microsoft stores will have the Windows 10-powered device in stock next week.

This comes shortly after it came to light that third party retailers in the UK have also started selling the phone.

HP Elite x3 US sales reportedly halted over camera issues

The sales of HP's Elite x3 Windows 10 Mobile smartphone in the US have been temporarily halted over camera issues, according to a new report. Microsoft's retail stores are informing potential customers that the device won't be available for purchase until mid-October.

"Just received confirmation at a Virginia Microsoft store that the elite x3 cannot be sold until October 11th," WindowsCentral reported one of the tipsters as saying. "They are waiting for updates to fix camera issues, etc. They have them in stock but cannot sell them, unfortunately."

HP's official US website currently lists the device as 'out of stock," which is clearly inline with these user reports. However, that doesn't seem to be the case with Microsoft's online store, which is currently accepting pre-orders for the device, with the listing revealing a release date of September 26.

HP's new Powerup Backpack is capable of charging your smartphone up to 10 times

HP has unveiled a backpack that is capable of charging your laptop, tablet, as well as smartphone. Appropriately dubbed Powerup Backpack, the canvas bag has a 22,400mAh battery inside that the company claims provides a full charge to most HP laptops, charges a tablet up to three times, and a smartphone up to 10 times.

The Powerup Backpack also lets you control the order in which your devices charge. There's also a built-in heat sensor that monitors the temperature to make sure the bag doesn't get too hot. A side-pocket plug-in makes the backpack easy to recharge.

As for price, the backpack carries a tag of $199 (this includes two USB micro cables for Android devices and one laptop cable). It is currently available to pre-order on Amazon, with launch set for October 1.

HP Elite x3 expected to be available for online orders in US early next month

The Windows 10-powered Elite x3 is "anticipated" to be available for online orders from HP's official website in the United States early next month (September 5 to be precise), according to a company spokesperson.

The device, as we already know, will carry a $699 price tag in the country. A bundle containing a desk dock as well as a "premium headset" will set you back $799.

In case you missed, the business-focused phone is already available to pre-order in the UK and Australia, where it costs £749 and AUD 1,199, respectively. In all, the Elite x3 will be sold in a total of 47 countries worldwide.

HP Elite x3 officially starts at $699 in the US, available by the end of July

HP has finally decided to unveil its official pricing for the Elite x3 Windows 10 smartphone in the US. Not long ago we brought you the news that the phone would cost $799, but as it turns out that's for a bundle-type deal and not just the handset itself.

The Elite x3 will be rolling out globally starting at the end of July. In the US you'll be able to buy one for $699, unlocked of course. If you want to receive the desk dock as well as a "premium headset" alongside the Elite x3, then you'll need to pay $799. This bundle will only become available on August 29, though. There will also be another bundle, consisting of the phone, its desk dock, as well as the lapdock, but unfortunately pricing and availability information still isn't out for this one.

In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the handset will retail for €699, the bundle with the desk dock and premium headset will go for €729, while the one that also has the lapdock will cost €1,199. Exact release dates for these are still unknown.

Overall, throughout its lifetime, the Elite x3 will be available to purchase in 47 different countries. It will be the highest-end Windows phone ever made. With that in mind, its price certainly seems decent enough - and let's not forget that HP is aiming it more at corporate customers than consumers.

HP Elite x3 available to order already

From what we had heard so far, the Windows 10-powered HP Elite x3 will be launched either next month or the month after. However, looks like that's not the case as the device is already available to order in Sweden, where HP's official website has the phone listed for SEK 8623.75, or around $1,000 (taxes included).

Try placing an order, and you'll see that the company is giving an estimated delivery date of sometime between July 22 and July 29, meaning you can get your hands on the handset as soon as next week. We expect the phone to available in other European countries soon.

In case you missed, the Elite x3 is expected to carry a price tag of £680 in the UK, and $799 in the US.

HP Elite x3 will cost $799 in the US, €699 sans VAT in the Eurozone

Just yesterday we found out how much the HP Elite x3 Windows 10-running top of the line smartphone would cost in the UK. And, at £680, it's clearly not a phone that will have any mass-market appeal.

This is confirmed today by the official prices for the US, France, and Spain. Stateside you can expect to pay $799 for the device, while in the Eurozone the price will be €699 sans VAT for the single-SIM model. You then add to that the specific VAT amount in your country.

For example, in France the final VAT-included price is €838.80 (single-SIM version) or €874.80 (dual-SIM), while in Spain it's €845.79 for the single-SIM model and €882.09 if you need dual-SIM functionality. Note that the aforementioned price for the US is for the single-SIM Elite x3, and it's unclear if a dual-SIM iteration will be made available in the US at any point.

Now the only thing that's still a mystery regarding the Elite x3 is exactly when it will become available. Hopefully that's set to happen soon.

HP reportedly confirms €699 price tag, September launch for Elite x3

While HP has already revealed the complete spec-sheet of its upcoming Elite x3 Windows 10 smartphone, the company has remained mum on the pricing and availability aspects. However, if a report from an Italian site Plaffo is to be believed, HP has now confirmed both these details.

According to the website, the Elite x3 will be launched in the month of September, although an exact date wasn't specified. As for price, the phone will carry a price tag of €699, which translates into around $770 at current exchange rates.

HP is yet to officially announce the pricing and availability details for the handset, so, needless to say, take all this with a pinch of salt.
